You, my friend, hold the key to your contentment, your peace, your happiness. It truly is an inside job. And no matter what you’re going through, have been through, are reflecting upon, there is a choice in every moment. Choose YOU.
The fastest path back to self is to STOP; Pause; Pivot. BREATHE.
Concentrate on your immediate physical environment. What are you seeing, what are you smelling, what are you touching right now? Focus. Be completely present with yourself and your surroundings. In this very moment, things are OK.
When we think about the future, we feel anxiety. When we are remembering the past, we are prone to disappointment, regret, and possibly even depression. If we stay present, we have the opportunity to relish and appreciate where we are right now.
Emotionally charged moments create physical reactions in our bodies, which become stored, and even re-wire our biology. Research supports the fact that when you re-live a situation in your mind, your body/brain responds as if it is happening, all over again. Reflect on that for just a second. You’re re-wiring your biology each time you re-live a situation. And that thing from yesterday, or 5 months ago, or 5 years ago, never really goes away.
Your body responds as if that punch to the face, just happened. Your brain enters into flight or flight mode, and your nervous system is on heightened alert, all over again. Even if that incident, was 2 years ago; your body and brain respond as if it just happened. And there you are, back in the emotional, mental, and energetic chaos.
Essentially you end up allowing your external to rewire the internal. If you spend a lot of time reflecting on past experiences that have challenged, disappointed, or hurt you, you’ve been subconsciously re-aligning your DNA and biology.
Think about how amazing that is. How could you use this knowledge to work to your benefit? Seriously, you are infinitely powerful; even and perhaps, especially, when you least feel powerful.
It’s not always about “just letting go.” I get sooooo sick of hearing how I have to just let things go. Because whatever that challenge, hurt, or pain – it was a valuable experience. It might have felt like crap as I was navigating it, but it also helped to forge the path that brought me to my NOW.
And this is true for all of us.
This is why we often hear the pros telling us how important it is to be in the NOW. Because your past can’t touch you in the NOW. Future worry can’t reach you, in the NOW.
But that’s just the beginning. We can actually go much further in the manifestation process, to begin to value, enjoy, and LOVE our present, and create a totally new reality. I’ll be diving into some quantum physics stuff soon, and inviting you to follow me there, to unlimited potential.
For now ~ be well, be present, and know that you are loved!
